Cathedral tower collapses after Colombia earthquake leaves more than 100 dead

The spire of a cathedral in Manizales was seen close to collapse following a 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck western Colombia on Monday. More than 100 people died, and more are missing as buildings collapsed in major cities including Cali and Pereira. Subscribe ► youtube.com
The country’s president, Abelardo de la Espriella – sworn in just days earlier – declared a state of emergency and said his government had deployed all of its capabilities “to protect lives, assist affected ‌communities and deliver aid wherever it is needed”. The US secretary of state, Marco Rubio, said the Trump administration – which has thrown its weight behind Colombia’s new rightwing president – would provide $15.5m in emergency aid. #colombia #colombiaearthquake #earthquake
