US military claims no ships made it past the blockade of Hormuz in first day

The US military says no ships have passed its blockade of Iran's southern coast over the past 24 hours. It says six merchant vessels complied with their orders to turn around. Hundreds of vessels remain stuck, concerned by threats of attack and sea mines laid by Iran. The US military says it's working to support freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz from non-Iranian ports. Alexandru Hudisteanu is a military and diplomatic analyst with expertise in maritime security. He explains how the blockade is being enforced beyond the Strait of Hormuz and highlights the need to monitor ship movements in the coming days to assess its impact. Safe passage for commercial vessels remains uncertain. Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly
