Israel's military continues to occupy towns and villages in southern Lebanon, while the temporary 10-day ceasefire, set to expire on Sunday, remains fragile. The United States is bringing together Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors for a second meeting on Thursday to discuss extending the truce. Negotiations face obstacles over differing agendas: Lebanon wants Israel to withdraw, while Israel demands Hezbollah's disarmament. Hezbollah has called on the Lebanese government not to engage in direct talks with Israel, arguing it should instead link with broader regional diplomacy involving Iran. Many displaced people remain reluctant to return home amid ongoing insecurity and Israeli demolitions. Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports from Beirut. Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly
