Britain is warning that Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz could trigger a global food crisis, with the World Food Programme estimating almost 45 million more people could fall into acute food insecurity if the conflict continues. UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper says the world risks sleepwalking into crisis and has called for ships carrying fertilisers to move freely through the strait within weeks.
