Cuba's ongoing energy crisis is disrupting state-run rubbish collection, leaving waste to accumulate on the streets of Havana. Months of fuel shortages, compounded by US sanctions, have halted or delayed garbage trucks across the capital. Pavements have become dumping grounds, raising serious public health and sanitation concerns.
