The median age of Americans is just over 39 years old, but the politicians representing them in Washington are significantly older. Many members of Congress are in their 60s, 70s and even 80s, sparking debate about whether the country's political leadership still reflects the concerns of younger generations. Democratic Congressman Maxwell Frost, who was elected at 25, says more young people are becoming politically active and seeking elected office across the country. But on Capitol Hill, younger lawmakers remain the exception rather than the norm, as older generations continue to dominate the corridors of power.
